Australian Army Sewing Kit issued to the Australian troops during WW2, also known as the ‘Housewife’. Kit includes: assorted needles, bakelite thimble, spare metal (quad hole) buttons and spare cotton/wool thread. The pouch was made from Australian leather although this was a problem due to the leather getting damp due to moisture and heat. The buttons and needles also corroded due to this. Later on they manufactured a Khaki cotton pouch instead of leather. Stamped ‘Parker's Products Pty Ltd’ 1942. The leather kits are very fragile, please handle with care. Leather and Khaki kits available.5
